Me And Mine Project – June Roundup 18

Half way through the year already and we’ve had the summer solstice, that’s madness. The nights are going to start drawing in now, should I be saying that? Too soon?

June has been a pretty good month for us overall, we have had some great family adventures, and we have enjoyed some glorious weather to top it off. Which is always a bonus, when you plan things so far in advance.

It didn’t have the best starts however if you read Me and Mine Project – April and May roundup 18 you may remember that I had the worst headache I’ve ever had towards the end of the month. Well it didn’t leave quite yet, it lingered for a few more days into June.

Chris ended up taking the kids to a Sunday bootsale just so I could have some peace and quiet to try and shift it. Eventually it did go, almost as quickly as it appeared and I’m still none the wiser why I had it.

Me And Mine Project – April And May Roundup 18

As you can probably tell by the title I have missed a month on the Me and Mine Project.

After March being very full on with the children’s birthdays by the time we hit April and my birthday I was on a bit of a downward spiral. My birthday is early April and it really reared its ugly head on my actual birthday.

Yay, fun!

I put it down to poorly weather and hormones. I have been affected much more with my hormones since having 2 children than I ever was before them.

Without sounding too melodramatic I also took a break from blogging for a month, something just wasn’t right. I’m not saying I’m 100% better with it but I am in a better place with it than I was. Perhaps more on that another time.

Me And Mine project – March Roundup 18

Its Me and Mine project time, and March is over. We are a quarter through the year already. I seem to say it every month but it’s so true, its flying by. I don’t know if that’s more noticeable this year, I’m not in that ‘newborn baby bubble’ that I had last year. So I’m more aware of it. If you fancy a catch up have a read of last months Me and Mine Project – February roundup 18. If you want to go even further back you can read my very first one Me and Mine Project – January roundup 18 too.

So what have we been up to this month?

Its been a busy one, we spent the first part of the month preparing for both the children’s birthdays. Yes, they are both in March and no, that wasn’t part of the ‘plan’, but hey, what can you do. My strategy, try to be extremely organised, just about managed it this year, Phew!

Me and Mine Project – February roundup 18

February! How are we at the end of February already? Here we are for another Me and Mine project, if you’re unsure what it’s about read my previous post here

It’s been another quiet month. Since both my children are March babies and my husband and I have birthdays in April, January and February tend to be the calm before the chaos.

We started the month with a trip to the Sealife Adventure Southend and arcades. That’s where we took January’s photos for Me and Mine Project – January roundup 18, may have been a couple of days late for that one.

Me and Mine Project – January roundup 18

Another new project for me, if you don’t know about the Me and Mine project already it’s quite simple. In essence, capturing your entire family in a photograph, once a month. That sounds simple enough, doesn’t it?

What I like about it is the purpose behind it.

One day your children will look back at photographs of themselves and they will want to see photos of you, their parents, in them as well. I don’t want to be the one missing from those pictures, (I’m always taking them, I’m quite camera-shy, I hate having my picture taken, I have a lazy eyelid, which renders me looking half cut, most of the time, which is ridic’ because I hardly ever drink).

I don’t want to keep making excuses or waiting for the perfect moment or right lighting, or whatever. I need to be present in these now. So as a sort of kick up the bum from myself to myself, I’m joining in. If you want to find out more about the original concept read it here. Lucy at Dear Beautiful explains it so perfectly in her summary, and that just clarified for me, why I want to do it.

‘So stop making excuses… get in front of that camera with your loved ones!’ -Lucy at Dear Beautiful.

Enough said.
